What The Largest Table Means To Me
Watch interviews with hosts and guests of The Largest Table.

Five years ago we began with a vision of creating a place in the middle of the week where people from all walks of life might gather together with a spirit of uncompromising inclusion.  We offered a brief, optional worship service and then a wonderful hot meal cooked by a team of volunteers.   We called it The Largest Table because we wanted to convey that ALL people were welcome and that we believed that there was always enough food and always room to welcome one more.

In 2004 we began serving about 50 people a week.  Today that number has soared to 250-300 each week and continues to grow.  People come because they are hungry.  People come because they know that regardless of who they are or what has happened in their lives, we will receive them with gracious hospitality.  People come because it is a fun place to be.

Come join us this Wednesday!  You will be warmly welcomed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?
12:00 - 12:15 Worship in our beautiful sanctuary.  The name The Largest Table signifies that although our actual table holding the bread and wine is small, it is in fact indescribably large, for it is open to all people and signifies God's love for all people.

12:15 - 1:30 Free Community lunch in our Fellowship Hall.  Volunteers facilitate every aspect of this meal program.  Other volunteers staff the church doorways to greet our guests.  Still other volunteers create place settings for the tables.  Several times a year, local high school music combos play during lunch and representatives from local social service agencies are on hand to provide healthcare resources.

What about funding and food?
Funding to operate The Largest Table comes from our annual fundraising event, "Body & Soul" as well as from individual donations throughout the year.  Now that we regularly serve more than 200-300 guests each week our needs have never been greater.

What is our biggest need?
         Volunteers, Volunteers, Volunteers!
Because of the increase in our attendance we have recognized a need to create two teams of volunteers each week so that the workload is manageable.  One team is responsible for setting up and preparing the meal.  The second team helps with serving the meal and cleaning up.
